Apple has decided to delay the launch of SharePlay, one of the functions of iOS 15 announced during the WWDC 2021.The Cupertino company now says that the characteristic that allows to share entertainment experiences through Facetime, will arrive in one of the subsequent updates of iOS 15.

SharePlay had already seen the light.However, the next versions for developers will have the function to share content deactivated.This could take many testers by surprise that they have already been using the tool.

Apple says they are delighted with the "enthusiasm seen by the community", however, Shareplay will now be disabled, although they promise to activate it again in future beta versions for developers.In that line, it is expected to arrive for the entire public after the initial version of iOS 15, which could arrive in September or October.

SharePlay is now optional for iOS developers

Developers who need Shareplay API to continue their developments can do so through a profile created specifically for this function."To ensure that there are no interruptions in its development, we have provided a development profile that will allow the creation and reception of group sessions through the API," says Apple.

Shareplay was one of the star functions of iOS 15.As Apple explains, this allows users to "share experiences" through Facetime how to listen to music together with Apple Music, watch a synchronized series and share the screen to show an app.

There are no doubt that the proposal had been highly valued at the beginning of the pandemic, where many people were confined.Now, however, it could also be useful, since face-to-face meetings do not yet return to the COVID-19.

ShaReplay will work on iPhone, iPad and Mac.The function will offer shared reproduction controls so that any participant can pause or advance the content.Some of the main entertainment services will offer support from the beginning.Among them Disney+, ESPN+, HBO Max, Hulu, Masterclass, Paramount+, PLUTO TV, TikTok, Twitch, among others.
